to enjoy a little pumpkin chuckin. We will be working inside
the classroom to create our designs this month.

OPTION 1: This is our smaller scale design and will focus
on launching candy pumpkins the farthest. Consider using
Popsicle sticks, rubber bands, pencils, milk caps, and more to
design and improve your candy tossing catapult.

OPTION 2: This is a fun option as well that involves launching
mini pumpkins the farthest. Be creative and industrious as
you create a catapult that will cast a real pumpkin the farthest.

Feel free to use a variety of materials to create your pumpkin
catapult. Things to consider include: elasticity, torsion,
and potential & kinetic energy.

RULES:
* Each classroom may enter 1 class design and/or up to 3
group designs this month.
* Must be completed by: October 31st

Entries that catapult their pumpkin
payload the farthest will be deemed the

September Cre@tivity Lab Challenge: Spinning Top
Our first challenge is building a spinning top. Now you may say, that's not too difficult...BUT, can you build the top that spins the longest?

RULES:
* Must be completed by: September 27th.

Feel free to use a variety of materials to create your own, unique top. Things to consider include: symmetry, balance, weight, friction, and potential & kenetic energy.

* Entries will be assessed on their craftsmanship Craftsmanship is when you work carefully to create something. We will be looking for spinning tops that are well made and don't fall apart. We will be looking for tops that have neat artwork and no messy glue dribbles. Being a craftsman means that you have created something that is your very best work!

* Entries will be assessed on creativity. Use a variety of materials to create a unique design. You can create a top from materials around your house like: bottle caps, beads, wood, cardboard, old CDs, apple sauce tops, Legos, candy, toothpicks, nails, stickers, paint, sequins, and more. You can even 3D design and print your design. Be creative.

* Entries will be assessed for longest spin time. We will be testing up to 3 of the top designs from each class who participates. (Make sure your class votes for their top 3 entries!) We will test each entry 3 times and average the results to find a winner!
